These pictures are part of the current inventory of about 500 computer graphics created with the self-developed image generator "ShapePainter" (1994 - 97). This program joins pictures according to the random principle from individual picture elements such as
color surfaces, figurations and characters. Overlaying colors, different backgrounds and effects can be presetted as well as many other parameters that define the size of the picture, the number of elements to be used, density, transparency etc. By this means the virtual painting process is regulated without encroaching upon the informal character of the pictures generated by coincidence. The figurative elements used for this purpose were created with a painting program and include significant elements of their own visual language. They are stored as ressources in plugIn-librairies that can be expanded as required. The pictures were not additionally retouched. The program was designed for personal use only and runs with Mac OS 7.1 - 9.2.
The computer graphics is completely experimental by its nature and implies - similar to the photo graphics - a precious experience and suggestion for the actual painting work.
